IoT plant monitoring for rotomoulding
A clear view of every arm, cycle, reject and kg of gas.
Built for real roto-moulding operations: connect the machine, arm, mould, material, temperature and quality record in one production view.
Roto moulding runs on guesswork
Most rotomoulders still rely on the operator's eye, a stopwatch and a paper log. The cost shows up later as warped, under-cured or over-cooked parts, and gas you didn't need to burn.
RotoSight turns each of these into a number you can see.
Every arm, stage and kilo, in one view
Live roto dashboard: every arm and stage with actual vs standard time (sample data).
- Process and material recordsConnect the mould, material batch, operator and cycle history for reliable traceability.
- Temperature evidenceUse PiatIQ oven and cooling curves beside the machine cycle and quality result.
- Live roto dashboardEvery arm and stage (load, heat, cool, unload) with actual vs standard time.
- RotoArm weight balancingPlan mould loading so every arm carries a balanced weight before the oven cycle is released.
- RotoAuto cut-offsMonitor arm environment temperature, stop oven heating and control cooling fan speed.
- RotoPour WeighShow the active mould and master material weight, then stop the pour at the target.
- Gas, energy & cost per partGas and power per arm and cycle, turned into a real cost for every mould.
- Quality & rejectsDefects per mould and cycle, Pareto of causes, rework tracking.
- Andon & alertsDelays and stoppages pushed to the right person by e-mail and chat.
- Daily roto reportCycles, output, delays and rejects per machine and shift, every morning.

Compare the failed and safe loading examples, then use the measured weight gap and centre-of-mass position to make the run decision.
131.8 kg gap · Do not runLimit: 5 kg
Worst balance: do not run
FAILArm 2 carried 395 kg on Side A and 263.2 kg on Side B. The 131.8 kg gap was far above the 5 kg allowed limit.
- Disc A
- 60.2 mm
- Disc B
- 3.7 mm
- Weight gap
- 131.8 kg
Uneven loading shifts the centre of mass, increases mechanical stress and makes the cycle unsafe to release.
Good balance: safe to run
PASSArm 4 carried 349.3 kg on Side A and 349.7 kg on Side B. The 0.4 kg gap stayed inside the 5 kg limit.
- Disc A
- 5.5 mm
- Disc B
- 0.7 mm
- Weight gap
- 0.4 kg
Balanced placement keeps both sides close to the pivot, protecting the machine and using the oven capacity properly.
Cut heat at the right point. Control cooling by temperature.
RotoAuto hardware mounts on each machine arm and monitors the surrounding environment temperature. It signals oven cut-off when the configured temperature and safety conditions are met, then adjusts fan speed during cooling.
- 01Monitor at the armRead the environment temperature from hardware mounted on each arm, without placing the RotoAuto controller inside the mould.
- 02Cut off the ovenWhen the configured temperature target and safety checks pass, send the oven cut-off signal automatically.
- 03Manage cooling airflowDuring the cooling stage, adjust PWM fan speed using the measured temperature to keep the cooling profile controlled and repeatable.
Pour the correct weight into the correct mould.
RotoSight identifies the active arm and mould, shows the approved master weight to the operator, and allows only that amount of raw material. Once the target is reached, the pour stops.
- 1IdentifySelect the arm and mould currently running.
- 2WeighCompare the live pour against the approved master weight.
- 3ControlStop at the limit so over-pouring is not allowed.
Running in days, not months
Connect
The RotoSight gateway connects to your machine and simple sensors; PiatIQ loggers go on the arms. No changes to the machine program.
See
Live dashboards on the shop floor, in the office and on your phone from the first shift: arms, cycles, gas and in-mould temperature.
Improve
Daily reports, alerts and Smart Buddy guidance turn the data into shorter cycles, balanced arms, less gas and fewer rejects.
